The Grunt

Description:

Grunts resemble vaguely humanoid creatures with rough darkened skin, wide pitch-black eyes, broken and inverted yet muscular knees and, most notably, another set of teeth behind the main ones. These creatures are agile, being able to reach maximum speed in less than 0.5 seconds, while we humans need time to accelerate to our topmost speed from a relaxed standing position.

They are the result of a human falling into despair and being affected by the mutagenic field of the Backrooms. As they lose their humanity they quickly mutate and adapt to their surrounding

Their eyes are like ours but completely black to absorb as much light as possible to be able to see in pitch-black environments. There is barely any hair on it, and usually has dried-up blood on the body.

The entities have a terrible odor, as if rotting flesh or death. This is probably an adaptation too attract rodents and corpse eaters, as they are attracted to the smell of death. It is also a good way to determine if a Grunt is nearby

Grunts are very audio-sensitive, sprinting fast towards any sound around them. When they see prey they lunge towards them to close in the distance. Their main source of nutrition ranges from Backrooms Rat , to unsuspecting victims lost in the Backrooms. They hydrate by drinking the blood of their prey, tending to avoid any fungi or plantlife. They do not feed on corpses that are not fresh.

The second set of teeth aims to aid it in crushing bones into fine particles. It uses all of the available nutrients of the body, leaving no trace other than blood and some hair/fur.

Grunts are not territorial. Grunts tend to act alone, it is unknown if they procreate.

Footnotes:

No matter how strong the human spirit is, when in contact with a Grunt your chances are slim. You are up and personal with a creature that is much more adapted to the Backrooms than you are. Being human here doesn’t make you the top of the food chain, but the bottom. If you smell death, don’t risk to investigate - quietly move far far away
