The backrooms rat is similar to the rat in the Frontrooms, slightly evolving to survive more in the Backrooms. It is a small rodent that likes dark moist and cramped spaces, often residing in the walls of the Backrooms in small packs. Their ears are twice as big, their coloration is more yellowish and their whiskers are twice as big and thick
Rats can eat anything that is edible - even rotten food. They will however rarely go out of their dens during Whiteouts.
Rats can be eaten if prepared - skinning them will give a small amount of hide which can be turned into insulation, and their guts can be cooked into stew
