Biomes are generated by creating a Voronoi noise pattern and mapping the different biomes to the value of the cell. Another sampler is used to get the distance from the center of the cell, which is used to generate the Transitional biome around the parent biome
The transitional biome would be a 50/50 mix of the primary biome and the base transitional biome, which looks like Lurking danger, being a “Clean slate” biome which can inherit all properties of existing biomes
The centre is always the YellowSpace biome, being a 10-chunk radius sphere. It serves as the default Backrooms biome from all the urban legends.
Each biome has an Absurdity value which affects their spawn rarity from the center. The farther away a point is from the center - the more common absurd biomes will be. At about 64 km from the center the absurd biomes are at their maximum rarity, being on the same level as normal biomes
Absurd biomes are visually surreal, going more into absurdism/surrealism/weirdcore and straying slightly away from liminal spaces while keeping the weird dreamcore feel of the Backrooms
